Workshops

I absolutely love getting the opportunity to pass on knowledge to a group. The atmosphere in my workshops is usually buzzing with curiosity and warmth, and I try to flow with that energy by presenting in a conversational, relaxed style.

I can present a workshop at your workplace, school or community group. Workshops are a fantastic way to learn new skills and explore ideas. They can also become the starting point for important conversations in the workplace or at school. If you are looking for a way to support your employees, students or community to develop stronger communication skills, better self-knowledge and more resilient coping strategies, a workshop can be a fantastic option.

I have taught workshops in partnership with The Ballarat Library’s Wellbeing Matters series, as a regular guest at Ballarat’s annual Pride in Schools event and at Studio of Secrets and BI+ Victoria.

Here’s a sample of some of my most popular workshops:

The Science of Stress Management

I can teach you what stress is, how it impacts your functioning and wellbeing and why it’s so important to manage it. This workshop focuses on practical, empirically-backed steps that you can take to manage stress in your day-to-day life.

Participants said that they left this session feeling:

  • “Calmer”
  • “Informed, and empowered to make some changes”
  • “Like I’m on the right track”

Online Dating 101

Dating online can be a bit of a minefield, but I can share some pearls of wisdom as a relationship counsellor, polyamorous person and online dating enthusiast. We’ll chat about:

  • Practical considerations like setting up your profile and choosing pictures
  • Maintaining safety both online and in-person
  • Building self-esteem and self-worth
  • Dealing with rejection
  • Setting personal boundaries

Difficult Conversations and how to Navigate Them

I presented this workshop at the Pride in Schools Conference in 2024 to help empower the young people in attendance to have difficult conversations around gender and sexuality. The focus of this workshop is to help people to approach difficult conversations constructively. We talked about:

  • How to prepare for challenging conversations
  • Managing strong emotions during conflict
  • Myth-busting expectations and beliefs
  • How to self-care after a difficult conversation

I have also presented short workshops on the following topics:

  • Building community and the importance of belonging and connection.
  • The mental health benefits of gratitude
  • People-pleasing and Boundary setting.

I would also be delighted to work with you to design a workshop presentation that suits your needs.
